Beachside Branding in Maine Brings Year-Round Excitement

Known for its seven-mile stretch of pristine beaches & plethora of summer activities, the Town of Old Orchard Beach (OOB) is also ripe with opportunity and excitement throughout the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. OOB needed a modernized identity and a user-friendly website to visually communicate the spirit of the town as a year-round destination.

Logo Design

After defining OOB’s strategy & positioning, we explored a range of logo concepts and taglines that communicated the town’s welcoming, memorable, and nostalgic qualities. The end result was a logo that paired a classic serif typeface with a modern sans serif to create a contemporary feel, while the hand-painted element is a nod to signage found on the town’s iconic pier.

Brand Extension

The Brand Standards rolled out usage guidelines for the logo, tagline, and icon, as well as color palettes, typography, and imagery details to ensure brand consistency and recognition. Establishing these guidelines also helped set the stage before diving into the redesign of the website.

Website Design

The new OOB website leveraged the refreshed identity and tagline throughout while streamlining the user experience. From events to business information to parking permits, residents and visitors can easily find what they are looking for while browsing the site that visually communicates that OOB is the perfect place to eat, shop, and play any time of year.

“From the proposal presentation to brand concept, design and website design, the BrandFirst team has been outstanding! They handled the concept meetings with grace and listened to all the passionate opinions and came up with designs that won hearts. We love the final brand design, and they captured the heartbeat of the Town…I can’t express how easy this team has made it for us. We are looking forward to rolling out our new and improved look and feel to our residents, business owners and visitors!”
